WrapX makes the file. Tesla's own app, or a USB drive, puts it on the car. That second part happens outside WrapX, so here it is in full. Both routes end in the same place.

With the Tesla app

• Save the wrap to Photos. Open any wrap in WrapX and tap Save to Photos.
• Open the Tesla app. Go to Creations, then Wrap, then Upload. You need app version 4.59.0 or newer; older versions do not have the Creations tab.
• Pick it from your library. The Tesla app shows a 3D preview you can rotate. Tap Upload & Apply.
• Find it in the car. Toybox, then Paint Shop, then the Wraps tab. It is there within seconds, and the car applies it straight away.

With a USB drive

Useful if you would rather keep the file yourself, or if Photos has renamed it, since the filename is what you will see in the car.

• Save the wrap to Files. Tap the folder button on a wrap and choose Save to Files.
• Format a USB drive. exFAT or FAT32. NTFS does not work. Keep map and firmware files off it.
• Make a folder called Wraps. At the root of the drive, exactly that name. Put the PNG inside.
• Plug it into the car. Toybox, then Paint Shop, then the Wraps tab.

Taking it off again

In the Paint Shop, pick any factory colour or another wrap. The uploaded wraps stay in the list until you delete them there.

If the car will not take the file

Tesla only accepts PNG images between 512 and 1024 pixels square, under 1 MB, with a name of 30 characters or fewer made of letters, numbers, spaces, underscores and dashes. Every file WrapX produces already obeys all four, so a rejection almost always means the file was altered on the way, usually by a photo editor or a messaging app. Save it again from WrapX and upload the fresh copy.

The car holds ten wraps uploaded from the phone and ten more from USB. If the upload is refused because it is full, delete one in the Paint Shop and try again.

If the wrap does not fit

Every model and trim has its own panel layout, so a wrap cut for the wrong trim lands in the wrong places. Change it in WrapX under Settings, then Your car, or by tapping the car name on the Discover screen. The trim is on the sticker inside the driver's door and under Software in the car's own settings.
